The importance of saying Thank You

In March I sent a letter to my old neighbors. We hadn't seen them since last Halloween when they showered our children with candy but I came across some photos of us at a baseball game that they helped orchestrate. Before the extra children showed up, we were able to do more dates randomly. I would ask my sister in law or my grandma to come over and watch our only baby, while we had a night out. Our neighbors are the only reason we'd go to games. They had season passes and would set us up with some tickets if they had them available. When my ex stepdad passed away in February, I had the delightful task of finding pictures and selecting them for his prayer card. I hope you heard my sarcasm in that last sentence. It was a horrible task and I have vowed to have all of my pics ready for my family, so nobody ever has to do that for me. Anyway, I suck at sending cards and photos to people so when I sat at the desktop I reached into the drawer and wrote out a quick "Thinking of you" "Thank you" note to my neighbors. I don't remember much of what it said except we received the Christmas card, we hope you're doing well, happy all the holidays, Thank you for being awesome and see you at Halloween. I looked up their address, it was a few digits off from the apartment for some reason, we had stamps so I grabbed one, placed it on the envelope, placed my mailing sticker on it and sent it out a month later. I forgot about it and just let it sit there. I'd like to mention that I pass their house at least once a week when I go to church. When I'm at Target, I sometimes scope out their card section. I don't need more stationary and I don't need more note card but I like them and I'm going to keep buying them. I applied for a #tomoson opportunity and some seller sent me some note cards to use and review. I liked them and started out to send my next intentional thank you to the woman at #gogourmet who sent us that large shipment of Slammers for Evan to have during his tonsillectory recovery. She listened to my pitch and was happy to send us some. I was happy it worked out where he actually ate them and is still eating them now. It was good customer service which will lead to thoughtful reviews and good publicity, but she doesn't know how much of a stress it took off our family both emotionally, financially and physically that he had this food available. and the kids really like them. I'm only sad that one day we will run out and I will have to pay full price lol. It's just nice to receive mail. And it's awesome to receive a thank you. I love when people send me postcards and letters. I'm excited every day to check the mail. I have one friend who sends cards for every single holiday. I don't care if it's wasteful, I recycle them and I love it.
