Pinterest or Bust

This is going to be part of my Pinterest board when I get it up and running. I still don't quite know how to internet or technology.

I love Pinterest. I have been building the most beautiful boards in the world for many many years. And, I've even tried like 4 recipes, ha! Lot's of what I do around my house is an adjustment from something I've seen on Pinterest. A lot of the creative fixes or designs I've seen remind me of my grandma and how she would just do these amazing and creative updates to furniture or rooms in our house when I was a kid. Recipes she made from magazines always had her take on them and it really is what I think of when I see random items on pinterest that catch my attention. With that said, I wanted to do some pinteresty things and this is my first one. I am working on my house, specifically the kitchen, and I am painting the faux brick. It's currently a very dark brick with different reds and maroon colors mixed to give the exterior brick feel. I don't want that feel in my house. I don't want it in my kitchen. It looks drab and dark and my kitchen is small enough without making it look even more crowded with dark walls.

So, I picked up some white primer from Sherwin Williams and started to paint. I first was being impatient and started to paint with a paper towel. Then I went to Dollar Tree and bought two brushes and my awesome husband brought one in from the garage that I didn't even remember existed. My son's have been helping and it's coming along. After the primer, I'll move on to painting it white or will get a second opinion from a friend with a better design eye and will see if a different shade of white would work better in the kitchen. I'm also planning on painting the wooden cabinets but for now, it's one tiny wall at a time. Also, the whole reason why I am putting up this paint is to put up shelving which also has a lot to do with something I saw on pinterest. I used my Menards rebate money for most of the shelving and am really looking forward to seeing it come together, just like the internet told me it could.
